Google Maps API 2

Google is launching version 2 of their Maps API. Among the changes is a leaner JavaScript, the overview map (which was discovered already a while ago by someone outside Google), “fewer memory leaks,” and friendlier terms (including a 90-day notice before any advertising related changes... Garett Rogers thinks this may be an indicator that ad-integration into the Maps API is near).

I’ve now added the Maps API blog to the overview of Google blogs.
