Google Personalized Home Tabs
By Tony Ruscoe

Just as Garett Rogers suggested last week, Google now allows users to add tabs to their Personalized Home page.

Once a new tab is added, users can “move stuff here from another tab” or drag and drop existing items onto the tab. I’ve only been able to add six tabs so far, but others are reporting there’s a maximum of seven.

It currently doesn’t seem possible to re-order the tabs once they’ve been created, with the only option being to delete or rename the existing tabs and shuffle any modules manually.

Even without any modules added, performance in both IE6 and Firefox is quite sluggish for me. This seems to be because each time a tab is selected, a new request is made to the server - even if the tab has been selected previously.

The discussion has already started in the forum.
