Yahoo recently announced their SmartAds program (which they plan to expand industry by industry, so it’s not available for everyone yet). SmartAds are supposed to apply behavioral targeting to web ads, meaning the ads know a bit more about who you are and where you’ve been to deliver more relevant (or creepy?) ad messages. Whether or not Google already does the same with AdSense seems hard to tell, though Google’s Matt Cutts indicates Google doesn’t and shouldn’t, in his opinion.
Which brings us to this nice screenshot of a Google search Steve Baldwin happened to come across earlier while researching the program ...
[Thanks Steve!]
