Conrad.de is a large German online shop for tech products. When Markus Renschler was looking for a new battery for his Dell Inspiron notebook, he saw a peculiar URL on the battery product page:
www.conrad.de/Computer-Buero/daheim_sterben_die.sap
“Daheim sterben die” doesn’t make too much sense grammatically, but can be roughly translated to “they are dying at home."* Perhaps this is an attempt at search engine optimization gone wrong (and not just because of the underscores instead of dashes)... or a subtle message not to buy the product?
[Thanks Markus!]
*"Daheim sterben die Leut’” – “Folks Die at Home” – is also a German movie.
