Does a Site Have Malware? Google Provides Diagnosis

Google put up a new* malware diagnosis service; just append any domain – your domain or another site you want to check on – to the end of the URL “google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=", or paste a domain in the box below, and you will find an overview page listing potential problems like trojans or exploits (or the result may be telling you the site is OK).

As Ionut points out at his blog, Google.com too has problems... but as Google.com has around 12 million+ pages indexed in Google, including to a certain extent user generated content, that’s perhaps making it hard to completely prevent this. Google-owned domains like Blogspot.com are also affected – Google’s diagnosis says, “Of the 1148860 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 8630 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent.”

[Thanks Nate B.!]

*I believe it is new, though that’s often hard to tell.
