Once you’re “Activating the YouTubers” (that is, pay Google Inc money so you can advertise on YouTube) you could even sell “a product with no utility at all” (that is, a pet stick), Google argues in a new site directed at advertisers. The reasoning behind this: “If we can show how they [Google’s tools] might help sell a stick, think what they could do for your brand.” (One thing is interesting: even if you’re entering “a commercial relationship” with YouTube as a “partner”, your videos which may show at the top of search results will not be labeled ’advertisements’, but are titled “Featured Videos”; YouTube says “Featured videos are not advertisements or paid placements”, but what exactly are they?)
