Google SOAP Search API Finally Gone

It looks like Google finally pulled the plug on their SOAP Search API. The move was announced 3 years ago (and Google recently said the date was going to be August 31), so while it may be not too pleasing for developers to rewrite their apps, at least Google has given more than enough time to do so. Your best bet for a replacement may be the Google Rest API (or screenscraping, should you find anything missing).

Note while Google’s SOAP Search API is gone, Google earlier this year told me they “remain committed to the AdWords SOAP API”.

Also see a couple of other Google products that ended this year, and a general roundup of the lost features of Google.
