TotLol Maker Accuses Google/ YouTube of Setting Up an API Trap

Ron of toddler videos site TotLol, with whom I communicated by email in the past (and whose site inspired our WatchtoLearnChinese.com), at his site accuses Google of having set up a kind of trap with their YouTube API. Ron describes the process as follows:

Google releases a public API. They watch what third-party developers do with the API and modify the Terms of Service (ToS) for that API in a way that prevents breakthrough potential. Google may then move to offer a similar service based on their platform rather than the API.
