You're right. What ever happened to the rumors around GDrive? :/
And if i'm not mistaken, Microsoft released some information about her Drive. Correct me if i'm wrong. (My memory is not at its best :P) |
No you're not. Some information did slip. |
<< GDrive rumours? >>
Mr. Schmidt said that GDrive is only a metaphor.

Google Docs is on the way to GDrive. You can put a lot of things in the documents on there. |
But Google Docs has a major flaw that doesn't qualify it as online storage service. You see, after uploading a document, the original disappears and you only see Google Docs' rendering, which in many cases is far from reality. If you'd have access to the original doc, maybe it would be a sort of GDrive.
The interface, similar to Windows Explorer, is used by many online storage services, so I agree it could be a step towards GDrive. Here's the buggy XDrive from AOL:

On a side-note, "Gdrive" (alternatively named Platypus) is also the name Google gave to an internal product... See this help file which leaked a while ago:

i agree with Sam. Google Docs will eventually be GDrive. I give it 2.5 more years before the switch. |
