Obviously Google was trying to avoid the embarrassment of using competitor's stuff by removing the license statements.

I'm using the same Yahoo CSS at Uclue, because it overcomes certain browser differences.
Yahoo is very keen to see their stylesheets widely used. They even welcome you to hotlink to it, on the same servers that some of Yahoo's own applications use.
The basic stylesheets are very functional and clean (reset.css, fonts.css and grids.css). I'm not using any of the dynamic stuff, which looks a little heavyweight.
The Yahoo User Interface library stylesheets are here: http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/ |
Yahoo and Google are competitors but..... can you imagine Microsoft posting Official Videos in YouTube instead of own hosting?
I think google engineers love Yahoo develops. I remember a post in their Official Google Maps API Blog

The Yahoo! Developer Network is a fantastic resource and its there to be used. Google Code has been improving since Yahoo! launched the Dev Network but it's not quite as good. |
