See for yourself: youtube.com/watch?v=F-3brRCRsA8 |
I've seen the new player in less than 10% of the videos, mostly for big partners like music labels or TV channels. It's very interesting to see that the video doesn't play automatically on page load (maybe this has smth. to do with the new ads).
The new design of the page has been tested for more than a month (there's a link in every video page). |
When the video is over, it suggests you related videos that looks like the original player.. :/
Though the current beta player looks pretty much Hi-Tech, don't you think? (When the video is over i mean) |
Video autoplays for me in new player |
That's weird. It autoplays in IE, but not in Firefox & Opera. |

Interesting. AdBlock Plus blocks a script that starts to play the video.
Oh, and why all the AdSense ads are PSAs? |
AdBlock Plus doesn't stop it working for me. And I only had Ad space on my first load.
This new player has a few bugs (some of which are also in the current main YT player). If you select a part of the video that has not downloaded on the trackbar/thing it starts to buffer data only when you click play, and it deleted all old buffer information. Also, I managed to make the trackbar move over the time control a few times. And currently, I can't click the slider thing that moves (every time I put my mouse over the track bar it jumps around) |
I like the new time-slider, it gives more control over the video (maybe it's only my imagination). |
I see ads right to the video, over user info. Never seen this on YouTube |
