The Wall Street Journal seems pretty convinced that Monday's the day that Google will announce whatever it is they're doing in the mobile space:

Look forwards to that .. though it would have nothing to do with the Hong Kong market for the time being .. still wonder if I should get a GPhone if it is so called ... |
What the deuce?
Quote from the article "...Sprint appears to be agreeing to work with Google to put the Web giant’s new Linux-based open operating system into phones..."
What new Linux-based OS? gOS is not from Google (if that's what they meant)
([OT] My PR went to 2 – yay! 2 down 8 to go) |
So do you think they are going to standardized phone software so Open Social apps can also work on cell phones? Plus have all of their Google services work on the new platform. |
OpenSocial is for social networks. Are MySpace or Orkut available for mobile?
well actually, with the acquisition of dodgeball (2001), Jaiku, and Zingku...
Still, i doub't open social will go mobile. but the other google apps will definitely. Maybe the GPhone will be just like the gOS-- a stripped down version of a linux-based mobile OS that uses google apps. I'm sure they'll also create something for the OpenMoko platform.
I wish they would just contribute to OpenMoko though-- it's open source software AND hardware |
I'd also love for GrandCentral to be my default number and voicemailbox with a phone. That would be nifty |
A pretty good write up on the whole Google phone software story.

Wow. The speculation on the GPhone announcement today has made Google's share price go vertical (up 1.5% within 15mins).

Looking forward to hearing the announcement (fingers crossed that there is one...) |
It keeps rising , and rising... Who bets GOOG will beat 1000$ in less than 2 years ? |
