<<When you turn on AskEraser, Ask.com sets a cookie to remember your preference across your visits to our site from the same computer and browser. This cookie will last for 24 months. After 24 months you will need to turn on AskEraser again. >>

<<AskEraser works if you come directly to Ask.com and perform a search within the Ask.com search box. If you access Ask.com through a search toolbar or an Ask search box on a third party site or application, Ask Eraser will not be enabled and your search activity will not be deleted.>>

So this new feature is introduced only for PR: your activity won't be recorded only if you search from ask.com, only if you're not logged and only for 24 hours. But in some cases, it will still be recorded even if you enable AskEraser.

Reading the quoted text above, should this be 24 months?

I didn't see a specific 24 hour time period for your data to be deleted. It just says 'within a number of hours'. The number 24 came up in the FAQ when it comes to the cookie that is set to show that you have ASK Eraser enabled. That cookie is good for 24 months until it expires.

Yes, you're right.
