Perhaps Web 4.0 will be this type of hi tech interactivity. The computer screens will be open 3D holograms that interact with users.
Perhaps this is a sneak peek into the next decade....

Well what the hell is web 3.0?
|
According to Tim Berners Lee, there is not even a Web 2.0 so... |
Yeah, I'm just starting with web 2.0.
And I want a Microsoft Surface for christmas. |
Web 4.0....
*opens office window and screams uncontrollably* |
let get things straight what is web2.0 ? |
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=%22web+4.0%22
well for the past 2 years, people have been anticipating Web 4.0 |
Interactive holograms??? Give me enough money and *I* could set this up
___You will need___ * Sheet of glass * Projector * PC * Strong (but invisible) IR light * Wii Remote
___Instructions___ 1. Project image from PC onto the glass – simple 2. Point the IR light at the target user 3. Place the Wii Remote behind the glass 4. Run Johnny Chung Lee's finger tracking program 5. Set the image to change based on finger position
W00t interactive hologram! |

Hook it up to the head-tracking program and it'd also appear to be in 3D. |
So every /new/ idea is going to be the new "Web n.0"? Smart blenders will be the next web 5.0 development. They will get you milkshakes automatically and users can define the glass colour using CSS. (please, let's settle down and think what we are talking about! O_o) |

(the forum should try to auto embed the presentations like it does for Youtube videos.) |
Miss universe: It's an interesting concept.
Ben Allen: That presentation looks interesting too. I'll try to read it with more attention soon.
I don't like the idea of 10 years' steps. Technology evolves quickly! (Moore's law) Besides that, we can't be exactly sure of what's coming up next. Maybe we'll find seomthing better in our way to new technlogies, and the whole internet/pc-world will change. |
