I hope it has API features!!.. I wonder if you'll be able to manage the XML feeds for FortyFaces.com and call them into your website. This technology seems very promising.

To be honest, I'd forgotten all about it! Maybe I'll just ignore it if it does go live tomorrow... :-)

Which reminds me – what's happened to Google Calendar? I'm sure I need that more than I need Google Base and Google Analytics!

It will go live tomorrow, but then you'll have to wait 12 hours after registering before using the service ;-)

I still want to know what "all types of content" and "host" means in that quote. Would a podcast fall under "all types of content?" If so, boom, bang, more google disruption.

I love it.

It appears that going to http://base.google.com does not load any page at all. Ever since all the previous hype about google base there has at least been a login box visible without actual access. Maybe this is more insight that they are doing something to the service in preparation for the launch.

Google Calendar was NEVER announced, and there wasn't even a dysfunctional website for it like there is- no, was- for Google Base. The domain was just registered.

Oh, and Google Base is up now, by the way. (For most/some people, most/some of the time.) But it really is featured on the main Google site (sorta). Just click on "About Google." It's to the left and under the "Content" link.

Doesn't work in Hebrew.

It has some sort of spell checker on the text of the columns that prevent me from setting up a table in Hebrew.

It also checks the spelling of the lables.

Interesting to see how it reacts to other non-english languages.

I guess I'm late to the game. I didn't know about it until just a few minutes ago when I checked my feeds.

It is official: Google has released a new product before their last product began working. At least Base is fast.
