Google SMS Olympics alert for China, spotted by TomHTML. It looks like you can pick your sport of interest to then receive SMS updates:

The file name for the blue bar next to the alert category is called "popularity.png"...

Some of Microsoft's Olympics services, with thanks to Microsoft for the tips:

<<Olympian xRank ... gives fans a way to track the popularity of their favorite athletes. For example, Michael Phelps jumped from number 19 to number one in the matter of 24 hours, yesterday to today.>>

<<Olympics Videos are available at http://video.live.com when customers search “Olympics.”>>

http://www.live.com
<<The Live.com Homepage will rotate Olympics images in the background for the duration of the games.>>

<<Medal Count Instant Answer will provide an “all up” medal count by country, sport, or by country and sport when searchers type in Olympics-related keywords in search queries. For instance, fans can search terms like “swimming” or “China gymnastics.”>>

The IOC have specifically rejected the claim that each ring in the olympic log represents a continent, haven't they?

My source on this was Wikipedia IIRC, perhaps they're wrong, do you have a link for your source?

P. K. [PersonRank 1]

You are correct. It's right to say that the five rings represent five continents, but wrong to say that, say, the blue ring represents Europe, which you didn't. See http://www.olympic.org/uk/utilities/faq_detail_uk.asp?rdo_cat=10_39_0 .

Hi. There are 2 chinese words in the stamp, which, if read out in chinese, sounds like "google". The stamp is commonly used by the Chinese as a form of signature, it's made by carving a stone, every one is unique as the hairline cracks created by hitting it on each of these stamps are, of course, different.

Probably a snake – both horse and snake are part of the Chinese zodiac animals... and dragon, monkey, pig, tiger and so on from the other logos...

All the animals have golden medals in the doodle.

Plus, notice that the dragon, the goat and the rabbit all stand on the same platform.
Am i right?

I guess their all winners! :)

Ginny M [PersonRank 1]

Actually, the dragon stands on the 2 layers platform, the goat and the rabbit are on the 1 layer platform.

Dragon is the most majestic symbolic creature for the Chinese, so I think that's why they put him on the "winner" spot.

But I think they are all winners anyway! ;)
