Being the google addict that I am, when I saw a date in GMT a fe moments ago, I wanted to know what time that was for me locally.
In my trusty google search (Firefox) box I Type "17:36 GMT to ET"
Leaving me disappointed, this is not a conversion google can make. I understand that there are some Minor idiosyncrasies with daylight savings in so many places around the world, but they can simply show both options if it is not specified, and if it is (eg "17:36 GMT to EDT" or "17:36 GMT to EST") then show only that one.
That said, doing that query found me plenty of results that would convert it for me.... 1 point for google! |
Agreed. I believe this has been asked for many, many times before.
Given that Google already knows what time it is everywhere, it should be relatively straight forward to do I would have thought.
Are there any more time zones which can be checked like GMT?
i.e. [time in gmt] http://www.google.com/search?q=time+in+gmt
Or do you always have to enter a city? |
Well, Time in PDT and Time in EST don't work... |
You can add this feature using subscribed links: http://www.google.com/coop/docs/guide_subscribed_links.html |
I don't see why they don't have this feature. It would probably be used a lot.
I think there are a few other time zones which can be checked, but I can't remember which :( |
Ionut : I'm not sure you can, because it would mean your query should match a regular expression to enable your co-op box. You can't do it, it is enabled only if it match a concrete word or phrase. |
(well, the list of time zones isn't so exhaustive after all, you can enter all of them manually....) |
