I was just on 4chan about an hour ago, when they were plotting this :) |
Made a screenshot for reference: http://blogoscoped.com/files/google-trends-plane-towers.png
James, do you have a screenshot or link of where at 4chan this was plotted? |
4chan powaaa ;-)
I've also discovered that with Flickr few hours ago http://www.flickr.com/photos/rhoran/3174755354/ |
In other news they also hacked the live coverage of the Schiller network. This one was hilarious and of a better taste. They just shouted Breaking : Jobs is Dead I thought it was legit for a couple of seconds before they wnt on to brag about the hacking.. |
4Chan: Is there anything they can not do? ...Well other than getting Rick Astley to Xmas No1
Pierre Seems to have spread :P http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%22Steve+Jobs+just+died%22 |

Unfortunately, no, I just brushed this aside as it was just more of the usual at 4chan, I didn't think twice, but I remember the wording was as follows
1. Google " ✈ ▌▌" 2. Watch Google Trends 3. ??? 4. PROFIT!!!
As someone once said "Trolling /b/ is like trying to pee in an ocean of pee" |

Not so fresh but possibly not covered here yet: http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/01/06/%e2%9c%88-%e2%96%8c%e2%96%8c-unpleasant-google-trends-subversion/ |
Juha-Matti, when I try to post a thread with the title "Unpleasant Google Trends subversion" a duplicate thread suggestion is returned and I'm asked whether I want to post anyway. Did you not see this when you tried? |
There was a notification, but I'm not sure about the date of the thread that notification informed (using mobile browser). As mentioned earlier I'll switch to desktop machine when posting here! |
Fair enough. Although the duplicate warning does state the number of days since the forum thread was posted (it currently says "12 days ago") and the title displayed was almost identical and even included the ✈ ▌▌characters.
If there's anything we can do to make this notification clearer, please let us know. |
Today, 6th of Google Hot Trends is "Laura Bush has killed a guy"
(it's the title of an episode of Family Guy ;-]) |
