I know that blurring of non-humans is commonplace, but this one kind of makes a subconscious political statement.
A graffiti artist has painted Uncle Sam flashing his ID card and (presumably) demanding to see your papers: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffschuler/2585181312/
And Google Street View obligingly preserves Uncle Sam's privacy by blurring out his face: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Bollinger+Pl.+and+N.+High+St.,+Columbus,+OH&sll=39.978189,-83.001323&sspn=0.007276,0.012478&layer=c&ie=UTF8&t=h&cbll=39.977284,-83.003453&panoid=AQaRcouKciJ9IYwir3wLTQ&cbp=12,172.67501796959496,,1,2.3150628887137827&ll=39.980914,-83.002964&spn=0.006355,0.005075&z=17&iwloc=addr

Kewl; It seems that Google's face recognition technology really worked well. I'm not sure but we have this technology on Picasaweb and Google Image search. Right? |
