You can now narrow results by color in image search! (like in picasa): Example: http://images.google.com/images?imgcolor=yellow&hl=en&q=ferrari http://images.google.com/images?imgcolor=red&hl=en&q=ferrari
(seen at twitter) |
Cool! All of these additions and filters are making Google Images an amazing search companion. |
Well.. it's not always that good.. :/ http://images.google.com/images?imgcolor=blue&hl=en&q=ferrari |
I think it did fairly well, all the pics with Red in them DID have lots of blue also... |
David You think thats bad.... :P http://images.google.com/images?imgcolor=black&hl=en&q=ferrari
As James said, there is a lot of that colour in the picture.
I was going to say "It looks for the colour theres the most of, it can't tell what the picture is of", but then I realised theres the face search, so maybe they could look for the shape of a car and tell what colour it is :/ |
In my article for Zorgloob, I've displayed this example
"hulk" in green http://www.zorgloob.com/images2/hulk_green.png
"hulk" in red http://www.zorgloob.com/images2/hulk_red.png
"hulk" in yellow http://www.zorgloob.com/images2/hulk_yellow.png

Zim: Where did you see this on Twitter? When I posted about the feature, no other page mentioned it. |
Good job uncovering this Ionut.
Wonder what else could be done in terms of image search types and restrictions? |
Ionut: The source of the tweet turned out to be Matt Cutts [1], who retwited or read it at @googleos. I didn't noticed this, sorry!
