You beat me to it... :-P here's some more info:

So what I'm wondering --but am too lazy to try and determine at the moment – is whether the the logo is a valid possible game configuration? (given an appropriately size playfield) I suspect it is, and thats why it is relatively unreadable. Definitely a cool hack if it is, and a fun logo mod regardless. |
And I'm thinking it would make a great pre-interview homework coding problem: Given an image, an appropriately scaled n x m board, and a sequence of pieces, play the pieces according to normal tetris rules, generating a sequence of placements and line removals, to form some reasonable approximation of the original image. |
Lot of Doodles these tow days, four Google logos and 1 YouTube logo. |
I love Tetris (bought the GB game off eBay last week :P), but don't really like the logo :(
Looked at the Wikipedia article and found you can download the original DOS game :P http://vadim.oversigma.com/Tetris.htm
Andrew I don't think this would be possible in game. Although all the pieces are technically correct*, some have been split (due to clearing a line) yet others on that line are complete.
*Actually after writing this, I looked again and have no idea how you would be able to do the top right of the red O |
Websonic. Five Doodles in 2 days not not much. Last June or so, there were 6 Doodles at the same day |
OK, I noticed this logo in the corner on Google search results pages, but not on the homepage (I'm in Canada). Clicking on the logo just brings you to the homepage, not to a tetris search. Did Google screw up or what? |
Yes I noticed that also on Google.com. |
Cool logo! Great imagination! :D |
I'm glad they resisted the urge to make it an animated Tetris doodle. |
Why? That would have been AWESOME! |
