Four days later, SMS is still disabled. I'm shaking from withdrawals :) No updates from the SMS team either. Am I the only one missing it? I was a pretty heavy user... |
SMS in Gmail may be gone, but it's still active for all Google Voice users. |

It's really not the same. SMS in Gmail allows you to carry out a conversation in real time. SMS in voice allows you to send an SMS, but doesn't show responses in a conversation type window. I love SMS in Google Voice but it won't replace Gmail SMS for me anytime soon :( |
I prefer FishText.com over Gmail SMS. Mainly because it works from your phone and your actual number shows up on the receiving end. It also allows for easy international text messaging. |
