From what I read, that patent posted for "Accelerating requests" describes what googles Web Accelerator does.

It works with Internet Explorer and Firefox by preferching and caching the pages of pages you hover your mouse over to have the page quickly load if you decide to click on the link by loading the cache instead of calling the actual page.
