Maybe like how Google provides ads for Ask? Or maybe it's too old for that. Or the AOL type thing... I have lots of ideas but the date kinda limits it.

Speaking of mysterious URLs, I came across this a week or so ago. http://google.com/ch redirects to Google Purchases. I was just trying different countries and languages, and tried Switzerland, (CH) and it went there...

Regarding the /ch thing – I've always wondered why /ig is the personalized home. Any reasoning behind this?

Jansen: It works for all the countries I tried..

http://www.google.ch/cobrand
http://www.google.ca/cobrand
http://www.google.fr/cobrand

I'm sure most others work too.

Philipp, check this out:

BTW, did you see the link to http://terrorists.google.com I emailed you about? If you search for "terrorists.google.com" Yahoo finds http://terrorists.google.com
Weird, eh?! I posted about it on digg and they called me a spammer lol.

as far as "the other lost url" ... those links exist at the bottom of all search pages...just look for the "Search within results" link at the bottom (that's what the swr stands for in the URI)

Scary Wouter!

google.de/cobrand, usually the directory structure will work across all of Google's domain, so e.g. you can also try
http://www.froogle.com/cobrand
http://base.google.com/lochp?hl=en&q=

Don't forget to search within the results of Wouter's
http://www.google.com/swr?q=the%20devil&swrnum=666
link for Bill Gates

....yeah, yeah.... I know you have all seen this before ;-)

The cobrand URL was mentioned on this forum in December by dpneal:

http://blogoscoped.com/forum/14947.html

I didn't realise they'd stopped the "cobrand" feature. It used to take you to a page like this, but customized by a load of query string params:

http://www.google.com/custom?q=google

e.g. (if this still works):

http://www.google.com/custom?cof=GIMP%3A%23000000%3BT%3A%23333333%3BLW%3A600%3BALC%3A%23ff9900%3BL%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fruscoe.net%2Fimages%2Flogo_ruscoe_600x120.gif%3BGFNT%3A%23cccccc%3BLC%3A%23ff9900%3BLH%3A120%3BBGC%3A%23ffffff%3BAH%3Acenter%3BVLC%3A%23ff9900%3BGL%3A0%3BGALT%3A%23000000%3BAWFID%3Afe95407fd8bc237f%3B&q=google&domains=ruscoe.net&sa=Google+Search

In Finland the second URL opens a localized Search within results page with same results, however http://www.google.fi/swr?q=the%20devil&swrnum=666 etc. works as well.
