This is not from Google, it made by Kevin Jarnot... It sucks... |
No, apparently it's actually not from Kevin, but official.
Look at this post where Kevin found it: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Board=latest&Number=371009&Searchpage=1&Main=371009&Words=+billthecat&topic=&Search=true#Post371009
The user BillTheCat already made official sounding announcements on this Keyhole BBS: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Board=latest&Number=359430&Searchpage=1&Main=359430&Words=+billthecat&topic=&Search=true#Post359430 |
Philipp is correct – Google inserted this at the source – it's not a user-generated photoshop job. |
Ha, that's funny. For the offline version, the coordinates are: 37 14'41.55"N, 115 49'12.37"W |
I assume that you have click on this link: http://www.jarnot.com/misc/area51-aprilfools.kmz
If it is official, it should be link to google, or maybe keyhole. |
Hwy guys. I just tried to open Google Earth and it said that I have to sign in with a license key. What is that? It worked before and now it won't let me in. Strange.... |
If you want to get there more easily, open Google Earth, open the Places menu. Scroll down to temporary places.
It appears Google had GE automatically download a placemark on loading today that overlays the alien image.
I've saved mine for future enjoyment :-D. |
Most, you can click "enter free mode" or something to the right side of that dialog.. that should get you in. |
Aww is it gone now? I cant see it. |
