Google Current is a strange thing!

What is its official status? Is it endorsed by Google at all?

It's a collaboration so yes Google is involved... before, it was actually hosted on Google Video, but then they silently movied it.

So that is Google Current -> Goolge TV?

By the sounds of their stories (I just watched a few) Google Current is getting all the kind of data that the US Govt wanted.

Aw, someone beat me to it. I wanted to make a mix of all the Peanut Butter Jelly Time videos on Google Video, since I've seen quite a few lately.

Actually, come to think of it, the Google video filetype would probably be annoying to work with.
