Breaking news? From June 2003? |
Wow, that's old... and it still made it to the Digg frontpage today... |
This'd be a good place for your website sensualizer, philipp. Nobody notices the age of a page unless they specifically look for the date. |
Google uses inline CSS. I wonder why do they think it's efficient not to use external CSS files? |
Ionut when you look at their HTML you can only conclude they (those responsible for web search at least) don't "get" HTML/ CSS. Look at this:
body bgcolor=#ffffff text=#000000 link=#0000cc vlink=#551a8b alink=#ff0000
There is absolutely no reason to use this, unless you think it's important to Google's business that the 0,001% (?) who use Netscape 2 see a white instead of a gray background. CSS almost always degrades more nicely even for older browsers, not to mention future browsers or exotic devices. Google should also be a little more responsible in terms of inspiring people to do the right thing – I can imagine an HTML newcomer thinking of Google as tech experts, looking to their source for inspiration on what's right! |
"Deprecated", not "depreciated".
Have a nice day. |
