Am I the only one whose computer always freezes when opening PDF? Isn't this ridiculous? |
You are not the only one. Everytime that I saw a PDF link, I right click and "Save link as" to prevent the freeze. Strange indeed.

I think it only happens the first time you load it from the browser. The second time, it works well. Until you reboot your machine, then it will crash again. You are right, when you right-click to save it, it won't cause trouble. Maybe an issue with PDF browser integration... |
I also have had issues with .pdf files in my browser.
Which browsers did y'all try? |
Happens in Firefox and IExplorer for me... I guess it's the plug-in? |
It's happened to me in Firefox, IE, and Maxathon. Maxathon is horrible though, so that is no surprise.
I am sure a lot of things in Abobe Acrobat are not needed, they are junk. Someone should make a "lite" version. |
sometimes on Linux i get a completely blank PDF (but no browser crashing) – but i can get around that by just right-click-downloading the PDF first. but thats a rarity. mostly it just works (konqueror browser)

There is a very useful program which speeds up the loading process of Adobe Reader by deactivating unused extensions/plugins of it.. It looks like that the crashes here are harder to happen since I use this program, although they happen sometimes.. Link: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/1069854583/1
