Is Google the only company where the dotcom bubble style of a "playful" corporate culture survived? |
I had a friend from uni go to the launch...he met the 3rd ever google employee after larry and sergey (who was completely smashed, going around juggling with one juggling pin...free beer you see), one of the guys from the original keyhole team, the two aussies behind the google maps technology and many others.
I had the opportunity to go but unfortunately i didn't take advantage of it. I'm rather bitter about that.
Anyway, at the evening they announced they had been working their butts off to get google maps for sydney ready for launch that night. Maps are now online for sydney and all of australia, but with no search functionality below searching for regional centres. |
