Check out this page: google©.com Yes, with the copyright sign
http://www.google©.com lets see if the link works |
(frech = naughty, boldfaces, brash, etc., so says my Leo dictionary :))
And yep, link works here :) |
Ow posted it on the wrong thread, sorry for that. Here it is: I want such an URL... |
Art-One: you can register a URL like this. Use an online converter like this one: http://www.motobit.com/util/punycode-decoder-encoder.asp then register the International Domain Name (IDN) equivalent.
So, for example, the domain name of google©.com is actually xn--google-nia.com
If the browser is configured to display the Unicode version of International Domain Name, you will see google©.com whenever you visit xn--google-nia.com. All IDNs begin with "xn--"
The wikipedia article has some great examples of domain names with pictures of telephones or musical notes in them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Domain_Names |
Roger: thank you for the interesting information! |
yes, but RSS /ATOm has problems reading parsing the idn too.. somethin which needs to be factored in when getting a domain. |
/pd: thx for the tip, I'll just leave like this for the moment ;-) |
