It's about that time again... another design (currently exclusive to blogoscoped!!)
This design wouldnt necessarily be for the homepage. – perhaps part of an API? I dunno but i enjoyed making it.

wow.. cool...
BTW, did Philipp manage to do something with Google? (you know, he'll contact them and tell them about you and you talent) |

DH
Cheers! I think Phillipp said to contact the visual design lead directly though his Stop Design company, but he hasn't sent a reply. Maybe they dont listen to such unimportant people like me! =D

Yes, it would be for a homepage, or an API. I'll try and get a full homepage made soon. I just felt the urge to make it. |

I think it's unclear what selection is active in this picture, i.e. whether it's images or news (besides the subtle red border around news), so I'd put this to e.g. the right side with the selected rectangle in the middle. |

Philipp is right – its unclear...but I'll move this to the left. where the active selection is directly alongslide the searchlet.. |

I knew it's not Google's just by looking at it, not the right font. |

If anyone's interested, about a month ago I created a Google Browser/Interface mockup. Listed 5 key innovative features – one which looks similar (yay!) to this one mentioned. Have a look: http://google.ennovative.net
Cheers,

sry, forget the direct link. From the link above, you can scroll straight down to the category marked "Google Browser" or just click here to go directly to it: http://google.ennovative.net/index.php?f=28&sid=60c93f9d563a5f3673c358323402798a

That isn't a browser. No address bar, no menu, no navigation. Or is it just for news.google.com? |
Keven M | 18 years ago # |
It is a browser. Look through the 4 Fundamental Features, particularly this one: http://google.ennovative.net/viewtopic.php?t=40 (with the screenshot).
In that screenshot, Address Bar and Menu are shown as transparencies. The user would have the option of leaving them permanently on or appear only when rolled over. As for the navigation, there's the left and right blue arrows (fwd & back). The green middle one is for refreshing. Stop button is hidden as it's rarely used (but as in other browsers, it can be enabled/hidden).
news.google.com was just an example webpage. |

I see. It could be improved, but it's nice that the page gets more real_estate. |
