A few months ago PL linked to a post of mine on ResourceShelf http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-05-25-n38.html about finding links to AOL Video on Google Video.

Today, I noticed not only a link but actual clips of exclusive AOL Video on the Google Video home page about midway down. It's labeled "Featured on AOL." If you can't see the section I have a screen cap posted on ResourceShelf with a bit more info.

Sorry, NateDawg, must of missed this one. I've corrected my ResourceShelf with a thanks to to you.

Also, Mysterius
a GREAT video search engine that aggregates content from Google Video, AOL Video and many others has offered IM searchng (including AIM) for many months.

The database is called SearchforVideo.com
http://www.searchforvideo.com and info about IM video search (AIM, YIM, MSN Messenger) can be found here:
http://www.searchforvideo.com/misc/im.jsp

Yes, it's results only for now but video via IM will be coming soon.

AOL AIM
Offers video chat, as well as AIM Video (news, videos, etc.)

MSN
-------
Of course, Live Messenger already offers video for IM chats using a webcam.

and video clips (news, sports, music, etc.)

Finally,
see:

to read how you can share your music playlists (live with others) and even share audio snippets of songs.

Yahoo
---------
Yahoo IM offers video movie trailers embedded into the IM client.

as well as webcam chats.

Another app allows you to view trailers at the same time your IM buddy is also watching them.

On the audio side of things both Yahoo and MSN offer IM plug-ins

Yahoo offers (this is cool), iTunes Remote

and Launchcast radio.

Of course, all three of these services and the new Byoms service allow you to search via IM clients. MSN even allows you to search Encarta via IM. Instead of repeating a long look at these features and how to get to them, this post has links and details:

[put at-character here]Gary Price – No problem; it's easy to miss one or two threads from time to time :D (I know how it feels to be deflated when you think your the first to post something only to find out your post is ancient history ;-) I hate when that happens to me)
