They might as well replace their logo with the ruling. |
The ruling just says "a clearly, visible way" ('de manière visible, claire'). |
it's a proof how fucked up the wallons in our country are (french-speaking belgians)
|
Just plain ticks me off! I can't believe that the court ruled for Belgium in the first place as far as posting the ruling on the homepage is concerned... |
this is ridiculous. holy crap..... unbelievable |
Cool! Really smart and clever guys. |
Oh, ferchrissakes.
Dear Copiepresse: You don't own the 'net. STFU, KTHX. |
They want the ruling at the TOP of the page? Geesh, I thought they might complain about the formatting of the text, but to sue to try to get the ruling at the top of the page... It's not like the Google homepage has that much text on it, anyways. |
They're behaving like trolls – they want to get attention, no matter what. Well, you usually just ignore trolls, only in this case the problem lies within some Belgian courts... |
Philip, What do they hope to get from doing this ? |
Boy I sure hope nobody ever links to my website! |
Gee...and I thought America had problems with frivolous lawsuits.
Remind me not to visit that News paper's site. They might just sue me for quoting their name. |
> Philip, What do they hope to get from doing this ?
Publicity I suppose? |
They should import some censorship technologies from China I suggest. |
>What do they hope to get from doing this ?
Money, barganing power. They are organized in a cartel to get Google to pay them for including links to their articles in GoogleNews. If, as I read, they represent all of the established french speaking press in the country the service won't be credible without them (imagine google.co.uk without bbc, guardian, times and a few others). |
"Just plain ticks me off! I can't believe that the court ruled for Belgium in the first place Belgium is a country not a company! |
