I tried it and I like it! See my post at: http://www.lkessler.com/behold/behoblog.shtml#WednesdayOctober182006

But I'm concerned about a bug in the Feeds section of the Favorites Center. It seems you can't drag feeds to another location to organize them like you can in the Favorites. When you try, they get placed at the end. The next time you start up IE7, they are back in alphabetical order again.

Did you say you needed two reboots in 10 minutes?

I'm not looking forward to when they push this via critical update. Every time they roll something like this all of my customers suddenly start blaming my software for all the problems they are having on their computer!

Them : "Your software made my computer disappear"
Me : "I'm sorry?"
Them : "When I logged in this morning, my computer was gone! Your software was the only thing that I used yesterday, so I know it was that"
Me : "Okay, what do you mean that "your computer" is gone?"
........

Katinka, yes, the setup took quite a while and forced me to reboot the computer twice to complete.

Yeah, welcome to IE7, please download 100mb of crap and reboot at least twice to get this super piece of software. Hope it works with the standard stylesheet that every tested render engine can render (namely Gecko, Opera and Safari), if not, well, not my problem.

Actually, it was 14mb to download. But it required three reboots for me.

And there are still stupid problems for web developers. Like this one...

After install, IE7 won't start on my PC. No errors or anything. So now I'm back to IE6 and FF.

I am just trying out the new release of IE7, and find it interesting all the debate about this release versus the Firefox download. One of the most interesting aspects of the IE vs. Firefox battle is the development of the ecosystem of extensions or add-ons. It’s not just about bugs and features. Right now Firefox had a great advantage in this space but you can see Microsoft trying to catch up.
I noticed an interesting extension called Trailfire, set up as a recommended download for IE7. See link:

http://www.ieaddons.com/SearchResults.aspx?keywords=trailfire

I think the ecosystem for Firefox and IE will decide who wins this battle. What do you think?

Hey, that's happening to me, too. Anyone know anything about this? And how to fix it?

I need IE7 to gear up our web application. When I try to launch it, IE7 will blink for a split-second and then disappears.

Could that have anything to do with a previously cranky IE7 Beta that I had to remove several months ago?
