Myspace finally intergrated Google as their Web Engine and their ad source. Comments?

Ouch, my eyes hurt... the logo shows ghosting at its worst :)
But MySpace is supposed to be ugly, I think, it's part of their business plan to appeal to the target audience :D

I dont understand why they didnt just use a PNG with a drop shadow...

The fact the logo is anti-aliased to blue but users can customize their profile means it looks ridiculous on most profiles though...

Mambo, PNGs with varying transparency levels don't work in IE6...

Easily work around it with an IE conditional fix, though.

But what will you show IE6, Mambo?

I mean I know there are ways to do this, like Google Maps shadows...

IE6 supports index transparency in PNGs, just not alpha.

Yeah, and varying transparency levels is what you need to prevent this type of ghosting on transparent images.

So is this only external search? or is this partnership going to allow you to better search myspace profiles?

The people search results do show Google ads on top, so it's partly Google, but it's still the Coldfusion codebase, judging from the extension at least, and that's not Google-style... so it looks to be old. The web search is powered by Google tho.

it would be better for Google to take their name off that travesty of a website.....

The site where most teenagers in the US spend their youth.. mm, travesty.

I guarantee this makes the search market for Google go up.

great, give pedophiles one more tool in finding kids on MySpace. MySpace is just a haven for problems...now they drag google into it.If I were google, I would not participate with sites that can't safegaurd their users or keep spyware and viruses off their servers. Hijacked ads and MySpace profile pages are common and the more people use it the worse it seems to get.

Yet you yourself participate in forums that let in self-described "crack heads"?

when will google actually replace the banner ads that myspace displays everywhere?

The MySpace is finally sorted on profiles...

As a "foo" example... (conviniently the best band on Earth)...
