<< Google is on the move. The internet giant has held talks with Orange, the mobile phone operator, about a multi-billion-dollar partnership to create a 'Google phone' which makes it easy to search the web wherever you are. >>
<< Executives from Orange flew to Silicon Valley in California for a meeting at Google's headquarters, to hold preliminary discussions about a joint deal. The companies believe that they have an affinity as brands that are perceived as both 'positive' and 'innovative'. >>

from a different source: << Their plans centre on a branded Google phone, which would probably also carry Orange’s logo. The device would not be revolutionary: manufactured by HTC, a Taiwanese firm specialising in smart phones and Personal Data Assistants (PDAs), it might have a screen similar to a video iPod. But it would have built-in Google software which would dramatically improve on the slow and cumbersome experience of surfing the web from a mobile handset. >> http://gigaom.com/?p=7583&akst_action=share-this |
<<YouTube, the video arm of Google>> I think they mean A video arm of Google. Sounds like it could be a good phone, too bad it'll be out dated by the time they launch it :-) The future's bright, the future's Google

This story remembers me a news : in January 2006, Google announced a partnership with Motorola for a "Google key" on mobiles... |
Damn you guys are fast. Thought to be the first one on this.
Btw. after I got a mobile phone with Internet access I was really surprised how often I use it. Indeed beforehand I was convinced that I wouldn't use it at all. Of course I am totally hooked to the net anyways so I should go to a therapy I guess before I end up online 24/7. |
