Googler Pete Hopkins: "The new version of Blogger in beta is dead!" http://buzz.blogger.com/2006/12/new-version-of-blogger.html
<<I am overjoyed to announce that today we have o’ficially graduated the new version of Blogger from “in beta” to “.”>>
Out of beta. |
Woohoo! I 've been waiting for this because I couldn't migrate my account |
I've been waiting for this too, but I still can't migrate my account. Shouldn't Google wait until everybody can switch before taking something out of beta? Anybody any idea how long that switching period will last?
|
keep trying, mine didn't work the first time, then I tried again and it worked but it took a really long time and it actually didn't finish and it said that I would receive an email when it finished. If i try it now it says that it can't migrate because one of my blogs isn't compatible with the new blogger when it should be saying that I can't migrate because I'm already in the process of migrating an account to that email address (which is the message I recieved before) |
thx, i'll try that again & again (I've must have tried it a 1000 times by now ;-)) |
I've decided not to switch. (Or at least not this year.) |
I'm on the new one completely now, All those months ago I moved my blog one post at a time took me ages now the others have joined it with out me loosing so much time! |
There were some issues when I migrated that still aren't on the Known Issues blog, so I don't know whether they've been fixed yet. The Blogger Team knows about them. They're described here:
http://ruscoe.net/blog/2006/11/migrating-to-blogger-beta.asp
A member of the Blogger team told me that they "don't report tiny stuff on the Known Issues blog" yet they include things like:
<< When using Internet Explorer 7 (RC1), pressing the Enter key does not submit login forms on the new version of Blogger. >>
http://knownissues.blogspot.com/2006/10/when-using-internet-explorer-7-rc1.html
Why not just include everything on that Known Issues blog? |
I'm under Firefox / Linux now, and I have a big problem on my "old" Blogger account, I have 3 blogs. Since today, Zorgloob is in Beta so I can't write on it. There is no link to "migrate" to google account. On the home page of blogger, i have clicked on "connect with google account", I do that. Now I have a "second account", linked to my google account, with no blog handled, and I cant merge my previous blogs :
So I have 2 accounts (one "new", and the older), and I can't write on Zorgloob :-ß |
Maybe you should wait a little bit longer. |

what the fuck? |
Did you see these messages?
http://blogoscoped.com/forum/80196.html#id80216 |
I have never seen what saw Mrrx32! Blogger never suggested me to migrate/merge... |
On the homepage there's a button: "Switch now". You enter your Blogger username/password. You get: " We are going to upgrade these blogs". Then: "Choose a Google Account". (first photo from this list: http://blogoscoped.com/forum/80196.html#id80216)
I suppose that from now on you should see the rest of the messages and finally get an email when everything is done. (I don't want to migrate so I don't know.) |
Maybe the problem was that Zorgloob is a team blog. Check these: http://groups.google.com/group/blogger-help/search?group=blogger-help&q=team+blog&qt_g=1&searchnow=Search+this+group |
Well I did the switch a few moments ago and till now it worked perfectly for me now...
The only thing I've noticed until now: I did have to moderate my moderated comments again. Luckily I don't have much of them ;-) |
The button "migrate" is now online! At the top of the 1st screenshoot I sent. It seems to work now ;) Seems... |
Sorry probably should have said that I saw the button to migrate when I wasn't logged in. Full migration process took me about half an hour, maybe I've got too many Blogs on there? (need to delete some) |
3 hours later, the migration isn't finished... I have just a blog without any article, an other already "migrated" (Zorgloob), and the last one with 178 pages (according to google).
Blogger hates me. |
4 hours later, it works fine :-) MMMmmm correction, I hope all works fine... |
I got home today to see that my migration had finally processed :) only all of my bloger beta profile information was overwritten by my old profile information (which wasn't filled out for the most part) so I had to re-enter it all |
