this must be a test centre of some kind |
very cool. you can also see a supposedly retired U-2 spy place directly to the left of the B2 painted in white. |
Bah, this is a big deal about nothing.... Space Imaging has has a downloadable Stealth Bomber you can have as your desktop for years!

Research people! |
What? The location of it 2 years ago? This isn't realtime |

Just so you know how this stuff works. None of it is released without the government signing off on it. |
This is no big deal. The stealth bomber has been deployed to airshows overseas for many years and has been photographed overhead many times (most famously by an Aviation Week pilot in a Cessna during its formal public unveiling when they were still trying to hide the details of the plane's trailing edge). The Plamdale plants are some of the most imaged plants in the world and as a result they are religious about overhead security. There's nothing in these pictures that they don't care or want you to see.
You can also see an F-117A (stealth fighter) to the SW across the runway and a couple SR-71s and a U2 on static display at the gates to the south. The one potentially interesting thing I did notice in this picture is the small fighter on the taxiway just to the north. It is most likely an F-5 or T-45 but the semi-swept wing profile suggests it might be an Mig-23. This wouldn't be wildly surprising as the US maintains "Aggressor" squadrons of Mig aircraft, however it is curious that such a plane would be down at Palmdale. Are there any old image analysis hands that can positively ID that plane? |

It's great! I thing google maps will block by Pentagon! |
All of you need to get a life>>>>>>> |
Bill, some people manage to combine "having a hobby" with "having a life", in fact the two are not directly opposing each other – and some even make their hobby a profession and get paid for it! |
The Stealth Bomber is no more visible. |
Neither are most (I would say all, but I did not check) of the rest of the items in this post... Bummer I would love to have seen them |
Jack: that's what they're called for 'Stealth' Bomber ;-) |
I do love how they are storing toxic waste on the site... It's the same with Area 51... which is pretty high-res on Google Maps... http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Plant+42+in+Palmdale,+California&t=k&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=34.618111,-118.106305&spn=0.003134,0.005032&om=1

nice fake, much like stuff to see a b-2 over iraq in flight. Those guys always forgot to fake the backup. Google eath neither shows b-2 nor f-117 at palmdale. And google map do not show that flying b-2. So why not refer to the version of google earth |
