Well some researcher from Google by the name "Jones" gave an interview to Indian News Paper announcing their plans to Integrate Books & Maps.
The example he gave was: When u see a word like "Mumbai" in a book, It will be clickable and will be linked to the Maps & satellite Images from Google Maps

I have a weird feeling about this integration... |
The integration has been done, here's the Boiok Search blog announcement: http://booksearch.blogspot.com/2007/01/books-mapped.html
...and here's an example: http://books.google.com/books?vid=OCLC02715307 |
Wow... only if they could make instant movie out of the book... ;) |
It seems to work really well with guide books, you can see what areas they cover and jump straight to the bits you are interesed
Now they just need to add reverse look-up, so when you are in Maps you can search for books mentioning that location, or include book references in Map search results. That would actually be very useful. |
