Designing History : Use Google SketchUp to recreate Normandy landings
The Dominion Institute is challenging young designers to model the site of the D-Day landings at Juno Beach in France on June, 6, 1944. The designer who is judged by an expert panel to most successfully model an element of the battle at Juno Beach will win $1944.00 Canadian. Designs can include infantry, landing craft, artillery, ships and topographical features such as hills. Using Google SketchUp 6 (free), contestants must submit their models by May 25, 2007 to the SketchUp 3D Challenge Forum. The winner and runners-up will be announced on June 6, 2007.
Use your skills, imagination and have fun – who knows, you may be the lucky winner!
