Techcrunch has been informed that Yahoo! Photos will announce they are shutting down the service. The shutdown will take several months to be completed. Users will have choices on where their photos can be migrated to like Flickr, Shutterbug , Photobucket, etc. It seems that Yahoo! is finally making some changes for the better. I never understood why they kept two photo sharing sites alive for so long.

My ideas is different.

Yahoo.cn changed its first page from common to Google looking, they lost most users after they did this change. After some time, they back again, also lost most users in the left users.

So yahoo.com will do this same mistake.

How difficult to remain two theme of Yahoo image service? In fact, Yahoo can make backgroud database structure the same. Only in the front looks like two images sites.

If Yahoo shut down the photoes, users will go to flickr? No, most users do not want to change their customs, they will hate Yahoo a little and go to other sites.

Yahoo is killing itself.

Just FYI, for those in the US that would like Yahoo to look more google-like, they've had http://search.yahoo.com/ around forever.
