According to Reuters, Eric Schmidt claimed that Google would focus on "Search, Ads & Apps". So "Search, Ads & Apps" is the *new* tagline of Google, the new motto.

What do you think about that ? Do not evil?

That's precisely what Google offers right now. But it could be a lot more merged.

I guess their "ideal" is...

- 1 perfect search engine
- 1 perfect money-making ad system
- 1 perfect do-all web app environment

<< In the annual shareholders' meeting at Google headquarters on Thursday, CEO Eric Schmidt told reporters that the search titan has changed its tagline and its target. The new tagline will be "Search, Ads, and Apps." It's that last word in the trio that might concern Microsoft. >>

I listened to the conference, but I don't remember hearing something about a new tagline or competing with MS.

Well, ads and apps aren't evil so I don't see that being a problem.

BTW, there's an update to that SearchEngineLand post in which Google says:

<< We are not using "Search, Ads & Apps" as a formal corporate tag line nor associating it with our logo. For details, give a listen to Eric Schmidt's remarks on this subject during the stockholders meeting yesterday. >>
