I will be going to Thailand for six weeks this summer and i was hoping to get some opinions on high quality snapshot cameras. Thanks everyone!

I'd love for there to be some open source firmware for digital cameras to exist like Rockbox exists for portable media players

I think http://www.flickr.com/cameras/ is an amazing resource to see what cameras people use and love, and than to browse example real-life pictures taken with this camera.

I don't know what does 'snapshot camera' means in english.
The high quality digital camera I recommend is the Canon EOS 20D. The images are so clear and as many Canon cameras, they have good color saturation.
