Google Calendar API Released

Google releases a REST/Atom-based framework of Google Data APIs, or GData, to “provide a simple standard protocol for reading and writing data on the web.” The first application of this is the Google Calendar Data API. Using it, you can view calendar events, create new events, and edit or delete existing ones.

While there are only Java and C# libraries available so far, Google promises that others will be coming soon. You can start hacking up your own PHP or Python code right now, of course (the Calendar API group might be of help).
