Ask Fixes Vulnerability and More

The Ask.com team was very responsive lately... pointed to a problem with cross-site scripting of their page cache feature, they worked on it and now display cached pages on askcache.com instead of ask.com.

In other Ask news today, the Ask.com homepage displays a Columbus Day wallpaper, and the text “October 1492: Columbus Arrives in the Americas” linked up to some search results (including an Ask onebox/ smart answer above the organic results). Interesting for Ask to choose a holiday that’s surrounded by controversy... after all, Columbus’ arrival in America also resulted in lots of death for native people.

[Hat tip to Gary Price, Tony Ruscoe and Scott Kim!]
