YouTube Now In German

YouTube is now available in German. This specific localized site apparently had some higher hurdles to take as it took longer than other European versions to go live. Now, Germans get the pleasure of some carefully crafted Denglish, like “Promotete Videos,” “Benutzerdefinierten Player erstellen,” or “Broadcast Yourself” (OK, the motto isn’t translated at all).

PS: I asked Google/ YouTube what their promoted video box actually represents. “We promote videos from our partners in the promoted video slots,” they told me (though they did not reply when I asked how one can become a partner).

[Thanks Hebbet!]
