FriendFeed’s Google Connection

FriendFeed, as blogged about earlier, is a really addictive site, letting you track what people are doing or reading by compiling their various RSS feeds and diggs and status messages and so on (you can apply for a Beta sign-in). What’s interesting to note is that this start-up consists of nothing but ex-Google employees. From their Team page:
- Ana Yang. “Ana worked on product marketing at Google for four years, leading Gmail marketing for three years.”
- Bret Taylor. “Bret was a Group Product Manager at Google, where he launched Google Maps, the Google Maps API, and founded Google’s Developer product group”
- Jim Norris. “Jim most recently was a Software Engineer at Google for four years, where he launched Google Maps and worked on Google’s core infrastructure team.”
- Kevin Fox. “[W]orked at Google, designing interfaces for Gmail, Google Calendar, Reader, and other products.”
- Paul Buchheit. “[T]he engineer behind Gmail. Paul is also responsible for Google’s famous ’Don’t be evil’ motto and the first AdSense prototype.”
- Sanjeev Singh. “[W]orked at Google on Gmail and the Google Search Appliance”

FriendFeed is also currently hiring, by the way. They look for pragmatic developers experienced in Python, C++ and JavaScript who “Care deeply about users and the user experience.”
