Fonefox? Firefone? |
Firefone? AAHHH! My phones on fire! :D Oh I want my old phone again....
|
It's about time! So long Opera!
Can't wait!! |
I can't wait to see Firefox 3 get released first. |
I dunnow why this should actually be exiting. Opera is doing fine, I guess. Unless this is gonna be extensible. Let's face it, people who prefer firefox do that because of the extensibility. Opera is faster, richer with features and smarter with memory management. So basically on a mobile device, Firefox just can't win the battle. |
Yeah, Firefox is working on getting more efficient especially in terms of memory usage. Opera is faster than Firefox and Safari is faster than Opera. IE is still slow as sh*t though.
People who prefer Firefox do so because it is open source. |
Hmm, whatever happened to Mimo?
2004: <<According to German 4websites.de, Mozilla next year plans to release a mobile phone variant of Firefox code-named “Mimo.">> http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2004_11_11_index.html#110019283316034518 |
Was this ever reported anywhere else? Searching for "mozilla mimo" on google in news and web search i couldn't find anything but your blog post |
Hmm. What's weird is that Google just suggested the spelling correction "Minimo" not Mimo, and that found this page:
<<Minimo uses Mozilla Technologies to produce a highly usable web browser for advanced mobile devices.>> http://www.mozilla.org/projects/minimo/
Some commenters at Techcrunch also reference Minimo... |
I have used minimo on my iPaq its bad on memory utilization (as on PC) and is not very friendly.
Switched back to IE, atleast on handheld |
According to some sources minimo was just a simplified firefox, instead this version should include practically ALL firefox functionalities. (especially adblock plus will be handy...) |
