German language Google News broken? (View post)Mathias Schindler | Sunday, October 21, 2007 16 years ago • 6,481 views |
http://news.google.de/ is currently showing empty rows, after days of less and less reliable results and many timeouts. |

Google News (US) insists on taking me to the mobile version. |

Weird.. This shouldn't be happening to a NON beta service. :/ But no one is perfect. :)
BTW, Colin; I'm getting the full " Make your own iGoogle " page in the non logged in version.
You (or anyone else) still getting it? |

10 minutes ago: news.google.com -> no personalized recommendations. (I am signed in, of course.)
Currently, "things" are back to "normal". Damn entropy. |

Anyone tried to get an official response from Google?
Maybe Philipp?
(And yes, i do know Matt Cutts works for Google, but i'm talking about a more comprehensive response. Like, why Google News had these problems in the first place, and so forth...) |

that's because of the lack of energy! google is saving energy now :) |

Oh! No news is BAD news! |

David – I logged in after I took that screenshot of the iGoogle page and after logging out I never saw that exact page again. It could have been another test of personalizing the page without signing into a Google account. Just seemed to be pretty empty to me. |

So this might mean as you said, Google's next step of personalization eh?
Cool :) (Or is it?) |

Yes, I sent off a question to them yesterday, will see if they reply anything today... nothing so far, but it was weekend and they're just waking up now in California I guess :) |

Waking up!? At 4.30 surely even Googlers are still dreaming about petabytes and terraflops... :) |
David Hetfield | 16 years ago # |
I don't think they ever sleep. Like Peter Dawson :P |
