It's January 5, 2008. FIVE days past New Years. Being curious, I went out to see which of the three Web Giants – Yahoo!, Google or Live.com have updated their footnote to "'Copyright 2008". Can you guess who did?
Here are the amazing results.
YAHOO! http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3857/yahoopz4.jpg
GOOGLE http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/2060/googlevm2.jpg
and here comes LIVE.COM http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/3884/livenu0.jpg
Interesting enough, it seems that Google & Yahoo are keeping it alive, while, while Live.com is still out there in '07. |
I love the php function date. |
Ask.com still shows 2007. |
Google hasn't updated.... Gmail, PWA, Blog Search, Book Search, Product Search, News, YouTube, Alerts, Notebook, Patent Search and even the PERSONALISED HOMEPAGE!
Google has updated... Web, Groups, Finance, Maps, Reader, Scholar*, GVid, Images, Blogger
*About the only service here still without the "menu bar" |
What has changed on the page www.google.com since December 31, 2007? If it was originally published in 2007 are they allowed to claim a 2008 copyright date? |
<<I love the php function date.>> Most programming languages have someway to get the current year, which is why I always find it odd when websites don't have the correct year. |
Google Patents has no linkbar too, and has copyright 2007 |
<<I don't think that it needs to change until new content appears. It's still copyrighted even thought it says 2006 instead of 2007 as the copyright exists from when it was first written.>>
From Tony Ruscoe last year (if you're too lazy to click Haochi's links :D) |
